The mission of the QuoteCenter product team is to radically re-imagine the shopping experience at Home Depot utilizing the latest data tools and web technologies.
We are searching for a Senior Reporting Analyst who is passionate about driving business decisions through the use of data insights. In this role, you will work with our existing team of data analysts to deliver high powered reporting & self-service tools designed to support decisions about opportunity, strategy, execution/tactics, and measure results.
We're looking for a blend of experience and education with a minimum high school education (bonus for a Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or equivalent), along with minimum three years of experience working with software product engineering teams, translating business needs into written technical requirements and acceptance criteria, and/or working with SQL and business intelligence tools or platforms. We will accept more work experience in place of a degree.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

20% - Plan and lead all phases of a project's life cycle (i.e. feasibility, design implementation, evaluation); this includes extracting the business need; defining the business requirements, understanding the impact on the business, and designing and carrying out the project(s)
20% - Serve as a subject matter expert and perform research and/or analysis within assigned projects
20% - Multi-task to work on 2 to 4 projects simultaneously, recommending process improvements and making final project recommendations which impact the business
20% - Establish and report on metrics of assigned projects to gauge business value
10% - Mentor other analysts in developing/honing business knowledge and analytical skills
10% - Serve as liaison between product strategy and operations, product development, merchandising and finance by facilitating meetings between departments

This position reports to Manager of Business Insights.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Recent experience in a relevant analyst type role is required.
- Retail background strongly preferred.
- Recent experience operating in a leadership capacity, i.e. managing project teams or direct management is a bonus.
- Experience indirectly managing people and processes around project groups is a bonus.
- Proven ability to digest high level problems and move through the process of questioning, analyzing, and troubleshooting to defining potential solutions, gaining stakeholder buy-in and collaborating with necessary teams to execute strategy.
- Experience defining & supporting operational objectives by gathering information from subject matter experts in the following areas: Technology, Business Strategy, Operations, and End Users.
- Proven history of working with stakeholders, users and subject matter experts to gain a functional understanding of business problems and technical solutions then documenting business knowledge, defining, and prioritizing requirements.
- Prior experience defining and implementing team standards/templates is required.
- Demonstrated data-driven approach to prioritization and managing product roadmaps in an Agile SDLC.
- Ability to decompose complex business problems into digestible pieces, pair with meaningful data and work back up to holistic solution recommendation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Background implementing/supporting data governance is required.
