Position overview:
This position requires someone to manage the process of strategically defining, prioritizing and executing the new product development agenda for PGIM Fixed Income globally. This is a high-visibility position with exposure to senior management and the opportunity to interact with fixed income sector heads and regional teams across the firm.

Key job functions:
  • Monitor, anticipate and assess market, client, competitor and regulatory trends to drive product strategy and identify opportunities for product innovation
  • Help define and build the business case for new product development initiatives through assembling fact-based arguments and developing compelling presentations to senior management
  • New product idea generation
  • Oversee and conduct primary, secondary research and competitive analyses (e.g., product performance, market positioning, etc.)
  • Lead data analyses to drive insights and inform recommendations
  • Synthesize research / analyses, and develop concise and effective presentations
  • Present recommendations to senior management and secure buy-in
  • Manage product development team of 3 resources
  • Product positioning and education of client facing teams
  • Develop and maintain good working relationship with product development team in Prudential Investments (mutual fund platform)
  • Collaborate with internal partners including the Product Management, Investment, Client Advisory, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Operations and Marketing teams 

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience, ideally in a strategy or product development function of a leading (fixed income) asset manager
  • Ability to lead and conduct business analyses, including financial, product portfolio, market and competitive analyses; experience in identifying relevant sources of data and collecting such data from public and private sources
  • Strong investment acumen and solid understanding of economics and capital markets
  • Deep technical knowledge of fixed income instruments, products and solutions; both traditional as well as specialty/alternative fixed income (long/short and long only fixed income)
  • Deep knowledge of fixed income global competitive landscape (competitors in global markets, distribution channels and client segments (e.g. sub-advisory, public and corporate pension, E&F’s, financial institutions, central banks, SWF’s etc.))
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex investment product or business launches with multiple stakeholders
  • Knowledge of fund vehicles that are commonly used globally as pooled solutions (UCITS, QIF, SICAV, FCP, etc )
  • Excellent analytic, problem-solving and quantitative skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills in interacting with various constituencies within the firm
  • MBA/CFA preferred
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Self-starter with urgency and personal responsibility and accountability
  • Results-orientation with an ability to execute and complete deliverables in a timely manner
  • Strong leadership ability
