We all know the health care system is complex and confusing. That’s where you come in. As a Health Care Advisor, you will serve as a trusted resource to help consumers understand and navigate the health care system. You will be the first point of contact to assist consumers with any benefit and health & wellness need. Your goal is to put them first by understanding their need, eliminating confusion and providing resolution, all while exemplifying empathy. Consumers have a reliable ally in the health care system because you are there when they need you most. You will make a difference.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an Advisor, going above and beyond to support consumers, creating a memorable consumer experience
  • Engage with consumers in a polite and courteous manner, projecting patience, empathy, caring, compassion, and sincerity in voice tone and pace
  • Solve problems systematically, using sound judgment and critical thinking, while always following through on commitments
  • Act as a team player who serves as a mentor for colleagues and contributes to team camaraderie and culture
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls regarding health benefits in a call center environment, focusing on customer service and the consumer experience
  • Interact with consumers through multiple channels such as phone, email, online and screen share capabilities
  • Provide services such as:
    • Assist with understanding medical and pharmacy benefits, eligibility and claims issues, and plan overview explanations & terminology
    • Help with finding healthcare providers that meet consumer preferences
    • Educate consumers on clinical and wellness resources they can use to help manage a health condition or reach a wellness goal
    • Instruct consumers on their benefit package and connect them to additional benefit experts or resources
    • Answer questions about incentives, online websites or financial accounts
    • Provide education to encourage consumers to make better health care decisions
To succeed as a Health Care Advisor, ideal candidates will:

  • Translate complex benefit terminology and processes into simple information consumers can understand and act upon
  • Establish trust with consumers in an effort to connect with a variety of communication styles and personalities
  • Possess excellent conflict management skills including diffusing consumer distress
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED or higher 
  • 1+ years of experience within a service delivery or consumer focused role (examples include, but are not limited to: caregivers, hospitality, social workers, sales, non-profit workers, customer service, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) to create, copy, edit, and save documents     
  • Comfortable working an 8 hour shift between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm Monday through Friday (shift likely being 11:30 am - 8:00 pm or 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher 
  • Bilingual with any language 
  • Experience with medical or healthcare terminology
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment with constant learning and change
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently
