The Healthcare Contract Specialist is responsible for the installation and administration of assigned contracts, including, but not limited to: structure and billing set up, eligibility collection, database loading, and preparation of plan materials such as administrative documents and provider education materials. Healthcare Contract Specialists are also responsible for overall provider contract and amendment loading and processing using various databases. Responsibilities may also include auditing contract loads for adherence to quality measurers and reporting standards.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
  • Identify solutions to non - standard requests and problems
  • Solve moderately complex problems and / or conduct moderately complex analyses
  • Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Translate concepts into practice
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Coach, provide feedback, and guide others
  • Act as a resource for others with less experience
  • Attend meetings and Joint Operation Meetings with our Provider / Vendors
  • Oversight of Credentialing, as applicable, for the Ancillary Agreements
  • Other operational needs and departmental projects as needed
  • Responsibilities include contract negotiation preparation by gathering data for market and competitive rates to determine a fair market comparison pulling latest rates,
  • Drafting term letter, language comparison, creating rate comparison grids, performing financial analysis to determine performance, and develops a negotiating range and guidelines for recommendations
  • Works closely with our Medical Directors, Medical Management and IPA Networks  to derive at a cost effective Agreement
