As the Health Care Economics Consultant you will design and develop reports and analyze data to measure clinical outcomes, network performance and methodology levers. You will investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care costs data. Primary Responsibilities:

  • This role will be responsible for the maintenance pharmacy coverage databases to support regulatory submission related to drug coverage
  • Collaboratively develop analytic models to evaluate financial impact of business strategies to manage pharmaceutical spend and trend
  • Assist in the development of strategic initiatives aimed at improving the access and affordability of healthcare
  • Interpret and analyze pharmaceutical claims and cost trends to identify management of opportunities and measure the impact of strategy implementation
  • Lead projects to completion by contributing to database creation, financial modeling and reporting
  • Create and update automated processes within databases
  • Analyze reporting tools utilized by the internal customer groups
  • Package reports for distribution in a concise, yet meaningful manner
  • Act as a liaison to internal and external strategy and finance teams
  • Mentor other analysts as needed
  • Positions in this function research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data
  • Provide management with findings and conclusions. Identify potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies
  • Work in collaboration with business SMEs to analyze the impact of regulatory requirements on drug coverage

     

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a corporate setting or Master’s degree in a related field (Economics, Finance, Statistics etc.)
  • 3+ years of advanced MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables) with VBA
  • Proficiency in performing data analytics
  • Experience working with very large and complex datasets
  • Intermediate level proficiency with SAS and SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of health care experience working with pharmacy claims
  • Experience with pharmacy data related to regulatory submissions, such as Essential Health Benefits (EHB) or Medicare Part D
  • 2+ years with SAS and SQL
