Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital (BGBH), a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is located on an 11-acre campus in picturesque Fort Washington, Pa., a small suburban town of Philadelphia. Our 146-bed facility provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients suffering from mental illness and behavioral disorders.

 

The Health Information Management Clerk participates as an integral member of the records management team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information/medical records, within all laws, rules and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and the Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care.  The HIM Clerk / Coder may, on occasion, be asked to provide backup to the receptionist/switchboard.
Job Requirements

Education / Experience:  Graduation from an accredited medical records program. At least three (3) years experience in health care information management/medical records and a thorough knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

 

Additional Requirements:  Knowledge of coding/reimbursement procedures.  Knowledge of medical records and computer applications.  Knowledge of clinical chart completion methodology and  legal compliance.  Adheres to all aspects and quality assurance.  Effective oral and written communication skills.  May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
