Job Description

Roxbury Treatment Center is a private 112-bed sub-acute detoxification/rehabilitation and psychiatric center located at the foothills of the scenic Blue Mountains. In our 60-bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision. This unit includes our Military Initiative Program designed to treat active military personnel dealith with chemical dependency and mental health issues.  The team of physicians and our around-the-clock nursing staff provide the needed assessment and care. The Recovery Program offers a professional approach to the treatment of chemical dependencies. Our treatment team includes Certified Addictions Counselors, Masters and Bachelors level clinicians, and nurses.

 

 

Roxbury also has an acute psychiatric unit treating individuals with mental illnesses who need short-term hospitalization. This program specializes in treating adult patients who are suffering from co-occurring disorders; mental illness and substance use/abuse issues. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program.

 

An acute psychiatric unit treating adolescents between the ages of 13 - 17 is currently in operation at Roxbury Treatment Center. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program helping teens deal with mental illness and co-occurring disorders.

 

Roxbury is currently recruiting a Full Time RN House Supervisor on nights.

Job Requirements

JOB SUMMARY:

The RN House Supervisor provides administrative and clinical supervision to all staff throughout the hospital on assigned shift.  The RN House Supervisor is a liaison to department directors and administration to insure coordinated and efficient operations of services and departments. Primary responsibilities include: providing administrative management, prioritization and delegation of duties for all facility staff; participation in shift coverage as needed and deemed necessary as part of the nursing administrative team; staff and program scheduling; and performing direct patient care services. This individual will work in cooperation with hospital leadership, physician staff and other department managers. The RN House Supervisor promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. The RN House Supervisor must demonstrate flexibility and the knowledge and skills required to manage units providing care to a varied population including adults, older adults, and dually diagnosed patients. The employee may be required to perform job related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

 

Education:                                                          

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Prefer 2 years of clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health and co-occurring

population, previous clinical supervisory role in a psychiatric or co-occurring setting preferred.

 

Knowledge:                                                                         

Must possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients; age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques; medical criteria for acceptance/exclusion of patients; all nursing knowledge and responsibilities for the sub-acute, residential, and hospital setting; working knowledge of infection control practices; knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards (DOH, DPW, CMS, Joint Commission, etc.); staff development procedures and requirements; ability to communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing; working knowledge of computer systems and various software; must maintain certification CPR, Verbal De-Escalation, and Handle With Care. Must possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player. Good documentation, organization and time management skills are necessary. Must be effective in decision-making and problem solving.

Physical Requirements:                                   

 Must have physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and

stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen. The physical

requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
