Oak Plains Academy is seeking a dynamic and talented Housekeeper.

Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 90-bed residential treatment center located on 25 acres of rolling hills in Ashland City, Tennessee. Oak Plains provides psychiatric and neurological treatment services for males and females, ages 5-17, who have significant history of emotional or behavioral issues. The clinical programs at Oak Plains Academy have been designed to address the needs of children and adolescents with a primary psychiatric/ neurological diagnosis. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers work closely with each resident to assist them to achieve there therapeutic and education goals.

Job Requirements

The Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness of the facility and daily upkeep of the public areas. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dust, vacuum, and clean all offices, hallways, lobby, entryway, restrooms, and client areas.
  • Identify maintenance needs (lighting, repair needs) while completing regularly assigned duties and notify maintenance of such through use of Maintenance Request Form.
  • Collect and dispose of all facility trash.Coordinate removal of all hazardous and/or oversized waste.
  • Conduct inventory of all facility cleaning and paper supplies on at least a monthly basis. Notify appropriate personal of all restocking needs.
  • Insure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are kept in working order at all times.Lock equipment away from client access when not in direct use.Keep equipment within eyesight and away from client access when in use.
  • Assist in preparation for special functions, tours, and inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate all Service Excellence Standards and Principles.

Position Requirements:

  • Valid State Drivers License with appropriate endorsements.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret technical procedures, accreditation standards, or governmental regulations as they apply to maintaining a clean environment. Also need the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; see, talk, and hear.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment for this position is a residential facility or day treatment school setting while performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.  The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving
