The HR Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining HR standards, policies, practices, processes and systems.



Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement standardized HR Policies and Processes across the organization
  • Develop workflow processes to increase effectiveness of HR standards, policies, practices, processes and systems
  • Develop enhanced or new functionality that aligns with HR Strategy and business objectives. This includes leading the evaluation of new and/or improved processes and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in HR standards, policies, practices, processes, workflow or systems. Define, build, test and execute enhancements
  • Manage special projects
  • Partner with the HR team and internal stakeholders to analyze work process design and flow, improve processes and leverage technological capabilities.
  • Determine proactive approaches using HR systems to solve business needs/challenges and enhance the understanding of HR systems capabilities.
  • Collaborate across HR, IT, Payroll, Operations and Finance in order to ensure coordination of processes and efficiency
  • Work with NA HR Centers of Excellence to understand best practices and application in Canada







  • Bachelor’s degree is required, HR designation an asset
  • 5+ years of HR experience in a complex business environment, with expertise in the development and administration of HR policy, programs, employee relations
  • Results oriented
  • Ability to simplify complex information
  • Able to leverage and synthesize data/analytics and develop insights
  • Knowledge and experience working across provincial/territorial and federal employment laws
  • Experience/knowledge working within HR d service environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent judgement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines; strong project and change management skills, organized and able to prioritize according to business needs
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources information systems, time and attendance, payroll systems
  • Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
