The Team
Join the team of software engineers that work within the development organization to support high profile customer escalations and drive solutions to their problems. On this team you will be working in a highly dynamic environment and making an impact on the business as you work to diagnose and solve systemic issues being experienced by key customers. You will be collaborating with Cisco TAC, Sales and directly with end customers as well as development engineering, QA and manufacturing.

Role & Responsibilities
In this highly visible role as an Escalation Engineer, you will:
● Interface with Cisco support engineers to troubleshoot and diagnose customer problems.
● Work directly with end customers to help resolve their problems
● Work to recreate and debug problems in the lab working closely with support, development and QA.
● Drive solutions to customer found defects within development engineering, QA and manufacturing
● Participate in QA test plan reviews for new product releases.
● Be an advocate for customers and product quality within the development and product management organization.

Minimum Qualifications
● Must have previous experience in support, QA or HW/SW development of x86 computers to be considered for this position
● Troubleshooting and debugging experience with x86 computer hardware and or software.
● Extensive technical knowledge about VMWare products, Linux, Hyper V and Windows operating systems
● Ability and desire to calmly work with other people in stressful situations and limited timeframes to solve problems.
● 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, SQA engineer or support or escalation engineer.  Computer science or technical degree preferred.




Desired Skills
● Experience working with or supporting Cisco UCS server systems.
● Experience working with or supporting HP, IBM or Dell rack and blade systems.
● Experience with Cisco networking products
● Direct experience as an escalation engineer on a major server platform a major plus.
● Fibre Channel storage networking experience
● Experience with LSI RAID technology
