+ **SUMMARY** Responsible for providing technical expertise to maximize site Central equipment availability, reliability and reduce maintenance costs through system and process continuous improvement, i.e., LEAN principles and Continuous Improvement methodology. Assist with implementing strategies and methods that improve operational and preventive maintenance processes and procedures resulting in enhanced equipment performance. Technically support maintenance operations while ensuring compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, safety procedures, quality standards, OSHA standards, other regulatory agency standards, good maintenance practices, and corporate initiatives. Perform/support a range of control/monitoring systems, instrumentation, and reporting. Perform/support a variety of field and customer activities including data collection, one-line revisions, and control system analysis. May be required to perform occasional supervisory role. **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES** Provide technical support for equipment and process improvement initiatives using good engineering practices, simple & advanced problem solving techniques.

Have broad technical knowledge, training, and experience in maintenance and reliability.

Evaluate the latest technology advances and apply Engineering and Maintenance\\Reliability principles and applications.

Capable of simultaneously managing multiple assignments. Prioritizes own work. Flexible and responsive to changes.


Possess interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and maintenance persons. Ability to shift priorities according to changes in departmental/facility needs and be open to different ideas/approaches. Be highly motivated, show initiative, and work well independently or in a team environment. Demonstrated skills in using computer systems and software such as Microsoft Office Products. Demonstrated ability to analyze equipment failures using personal knowledge and internal and external resources.



The incumbent self generates work and owns assigments as determined to support the assigned areas as described under the job duties section of this job description. The balance of the work direction will be self generated and from production/utilities support requirements. Prioritization and alignment with departent objectives will take place with the manager. Additional work is self generated by needs determined during area walkthroughs, equipment monitoring, or troubleshooting calls, interviews, etc. The incumbent will use technical experience to transform the evaluations into job specific tasks which will be funneled into a prioritization system. Additional work direction will come from the manager in combination with production/maintenance support requirements and continuous improvement based on mesured metrics. Site and corporate strategy initiatives will generate work aligned with the development of a Reliability Centered Maintenance Program.


The position receives general supervision. Assignment execution instructions are provided as required or requested by the incumbent to execute the work. Direction may be received daily through communication with the manager or supervisor. Informal direction is received from supported areas including maintenance, manufacturing, quality, technical services, project engineering, and engineering compliance. Plant goals and objectives are aligned with corporate and are continuously discussed and monitored with the engineering directors.


Minimum Requirements: Experience with steam, electric, and chill water plants. Experience in BioPharma or Pharmaceutical, MEP design, AutoCAD environment is a plus.

**Training that is required.**

Internal to Pfizer, the position requires regulatory compliance, safety, gowning, interstitial space access, GMP document viewer, CMMS, technical writing, visitor control, documentation practices, contractor qualification, investigation system, master maintenance program, master calibration program, master engineering program, engineering drawing change control, change control, commitment tracking system, new hire orientation training, and others as required or requested.

**Minimum number of years of experience**

15 years experience in electrical or steam related field. Ensure and improve contract maintenance effectiveness. Ensure consistent and reliable delivery of services. Collaborate with the shutdown planning group to develop shutdown strategies that deliver required uptime. Analyze methods for cost reduction and launch initiatives to control or reduce costs. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, safety procedures, quality standards, OSHA standards, other regulatory agency standards, and good maintenance practices. Ability to communicate effectively with all audiences that include but are not limited to auditors, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors. Experience working with various automation platforms, PLC, BMS, Delta V, etc is a Plus This position will serves as a discipline Lead or Lead on assigned projects or performs moderately complex engineering assignments, evaluates, selects, and applies good engineering practice techniques to a broad set of complex assignments. Experience in Electrical, Building services and Plant Utility systems design and layout for: Plant Utilities systems: Electrical, Standby, Emergency and UPS Power Systems, System Grounding and Lightning Protection, Electrical Systems in Hazardous (Explosive) Location, Low and Medium Voltage Distribution Systems, Lighting, Fire Detection, Fire Protection, Communications Systems, Data Centers and Telecommunication Rooms. Working knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience and understanding of all applicable building, equipment, electrical and energy codes, i.e. NFPA70E, NEC, NEMA, IEEE, UL, LEED, etc. Participate in equipment/system based Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations. Review PM and corrective work order activities and initiate corrective action as necessary. Complete assessment and design for corrections/modifications for multiple small projects to resolve issues from across the site and network. Generate Project Engineering requests for larger projects. Represent Facilities/Maintenance Department projects and work with Project Engineering to facilitate requested project implementations. Work closely with process engineers and/or production to resolve human root or systemic problems. Utilize Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Pareto analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), HAZOP analysis, Age Exploration Process (AE), Six Sigma (Process Excellence) and predictive technologies etc. Provide good judgment and innovation by utilizing and adapting a broad knowledge of operational principles and practices acquired through progressive experience. Actively participate in or lead Site & Corporate initiatives such as Communities of Practice, Limited Duration Teams, VPP, and Conformance Standards. Working knowledge of MS Excel. Familiarity with feedwater, boiler, steam, chill water, and emission systems. Demonstrate an understanding of energy monitoring/reporting, instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure, pH, conductivity, etc.), databases, historical db, and SCADA systems.
