Take advantage of this great opportunity to get a great start at a great company by joining our Business Development Team! The primary duty of the Business Development Representative is to drive medical sales in the Small Business and Key Accounts space by directly marketing to clients not currently insured by UnitedHealthcare. They begin the process of developing relationships with clients, and collecting important information needed to facilitate the quoting process, and transfer to the sales team. The Business Development Team will also support various local, regional and national initiatives driving sales, and/or adoption of services and tools. The Business Development Representative position is housed in Inside Sales, which is a large centralized sales team located in Minnesota that supports the entire country and works closely with matrix partners at corporate and in the field.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops business relationships through frequent phone contact with potential clients cases.
  • Drives sales by being first UHC contact for totally new clients, never before insured by UHC.
  • Promotes sales customers directly. This includes: managing data and marketing lists, engaging clients to learn key decision makers and driving collection of key client information.
  • Execute on other ad hoc marketing initiatives.
  • Works closely and strategically with Sales teams.
  • Maintains detailed understanding of basic UHC services and programs, allowing BDR to potentially educate clients on a high level.
  • Demonstrates dedication and perseverance through contacting clients multiple times if needed.
  • Ability to present learnings and key achievements through formal presentations to health plan and national leadership.
  • Demonstrates team effort and participation to achieve goals and willing to seek out or take on additional projects if needed.
  • Ability to meet or exceed daily phone metrics of a minimum of 80 calls.
