VinSolutions, A Cox Automotive Brand, is currently seeking an Instructional Designer with 2 years’ experience to join our Training team in Mission, Kansas.

This Instructional Designer Position is a multi-facetted position. In this position the employee will act as Master Trainer – presenting classes and webinars to internal staff; Instructional Designer – assisting in designing training for new products, analyzing solutions for training challenges and operational needs, designing eLearning content; Subject Matter Expert – answering questions for the field, troubleshooting minor issues before reporting to support, assisting field personnel in delivering information to customers.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Product Training team, key business stakeholders and subject-matter-experts (SME) on the analysis, design, development and measurement of training or instructional materials.
  • Validate design scope and requirements for new projects and make recommendations on learning modalities utilizing knowledge of the business and instructional methodologies.
  • Follow industry standard (ADDIE) or comparable instructional design practices in the creation of all content and materials.
  • Develop conceptual design documents, detailed design documents, storyboards, project plans, timelines, and issue/resolution logs.
  • Consult with SMEs and other key partners to create instructor led, self-directed, and/or online instructional content that effectively engages the learner. Own the design and production of all training and eLearning content.
  • Engage power users, SMEs, and facilitators for end user testing; incorporate feedback.
  • Partner with Training Coordinators as needed on LMS registration, course administration, and logistics, etc. Manage published files hosted on the LMS.
  • Facilitate Train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Presenting classes and webinars to internal staff


Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills & interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Experience in training or curriculum design, and training evaluation metrics.
  • A sense of urgency and ability to give attention to details.
  • Customer service oriented and professional with customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • A minimum of two years of experience designing, developing and delivering blended learning solutions (i.e. instructor led, eLearning, etc.) in a corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to collaborate and work independently on projects.



  • Bachelor degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related education or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of various computer applications including experience with business support applications such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel) and SalesForce or similar CRM.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM software as a user or trainer
  • Experience in the auto industry
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a matrix organization taking direction and support from multiple organizations and levels of leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple demands and customer needs using a variety of methods and best practices while incorporating customer feedback.
  • Proven experience using traditional authoring and development tools such as Articulate, Captivate and HTML5. Photo, audio and video editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite.
