Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is a 178-bed acute care facility located in Streamwood,IL and has been providing mental health treatment to the Chicagoland community and the state of Illinois since 1991. We are dedicated to offering services to meet the ever-changing emotional and behavioral healthcare needs of children, adolescents, and their families. SBHS has a registry Intake Clinician position available. The candidate selected will be responsible for responding effectively to requests for information on a wide range of human services needs.  The position is responsible for direct contact with potential clients, consumers, residents, referral sources, physicians, clinical treatment team members and case managers.  The position in expected to make an accurate assessment of inquirers' problems and needs, identify resources to meet their needs, make the appropriate referrals and provide advocacy when required. ::

Job Requirements

Experience Required:   Must possess a minimum of two years experience in the evaluation and treatment of mental illness.  Knowledge of the State of Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Act is preferred.  Must have the ability to effectively work with consumers of any age population and demonstrate an understanding of normal growth and development and developmental stages.

Skills Required:  data entry, Crisis Intervention, Insurance Management

Education required:  Masters degree in Social Work or Counseling

Licensure:  LSW, LCP; obtain LCSW or LCPC within one year of employment
