Job Description

The Meadows is the leading behavioral health treatment facility in Central PA.  The Meadows is located on a beautiful 52-acre campus, minutes outside State College in Central Pennsylvania.  As an integrated behavioral health care delivery system, The Meadows provides comprehensive services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults.  Treatment is based on age appropriate care. The Meadows is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and is also accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC). 

 

The Meadows is seeking a dynamic and talented  Full-Time, Intake Assessment Counselor  (overnight shift) to join our Assessment & Referral Center team. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

Under the administrative supervision of The Director of Assessment & Referral, the Intake Assessment Counselor is responsible for the triage and follow up of telephone inquiries and face to face assessments.  Counselors demonstrate level of care coordination, evaluate patient vital signs, and contact and obtain authorizations with insurance companies.

Job Requirements

The position of Intake Assessment Counselor requires:

Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services Field

A minimum of one year of Mental Health Care experience

Knowledge of Mental Health Procedures Act, Child Abuse Reporting, Community Resources and other related programs or services

Excellent communication skills, including telephone/interview skills
