WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will help us transform and drive Cisco’s long term growth strategy as a member of the Corporate Development Integration (CDI) team working on strategic programs. These programs may run the gamut from acquisitions and partnerships to divestitures and joint ventures. You'll drive operational decisions which affect deadlines, overall business operations and the CSO org's and Cisco’s broader success. 


WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
CDI has played an aggressive role in Cisco’s growth through more than 200 acquisitions and other transactions to date, and is responsible for translating business M&A objectives into project goals, plans and actions. We conduct diligence and the plan and deliver on the operationalization of each transaction -- inclusive of people, processes, systems, and infrastructure. We work across all Cisco functions and across technology areas. The existing CDI team that you would join is an experienced group that work closely together, thrive on the dynamic nature of the work and are passionate about helping acquired businesses succeed as part of Cisco. 


WHO YOU ARE
Your Roles and Responsibilities will include:
  • Lead integrations (or partnerships, divestitures etc) of product or services-based deals which may large/complex in size (number of people, revenue) or those that relate to new markets and are associated with higher risk levels. These deals typically span 1-3 years
  • Apply in-depth understanding of Cisco's general business strategy, and knowledge of integration practices to make key recommendations. Understand multiple offer and go-to-market models
  • Responsible for operational decisions that will affect deadlines, overall business operations and CD's success. Take overall ownership for integration success
  • Influence multiple partners (including at most senior levels) to align to an integration plan that best supports value drivers and leads to a successful outcome. Own relationships with senior-level sponsor(s) within Cisco, and with executives of target companies
  • Drive resolution of cross-functional issues in concert with large matrixed teams and partners across the company
  • Become/act as a subject matter expert company-wide. Able to effectively represent Cisco's acquisition integration practices externally

OUR MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE ARE:
  • Minimum 5 years of Cisco work experience; roles in multiple functions preferred
  • Strong personal organizational skills. Can manage/juggle/properly prioritize a number of deals/initiatives/commitments at once
  • Comfortable engaging with all levels from functional SMEs to peers to acquired leaders to Cisco SVP/EVP-level executives. Has executive presence and demonstrates ability to ably play the part of trusted advisor to senior leaders
  • Intellectual curiosity and energy - no one can know everything in this role, as each deal is different. Should be inquisitive and constantly strive to learn
  • Comfortable in dealing with dynamic work and work flow. Our work is global, so this is [often] not just a 9 to 5 nor a Mon-Fri job. As the deal flow goes, so go we
  • Higher level and succinct business communications (written, verbal, and graphical)

  • Possess knowledge and deep understanding of different Integration tools and processes. Has the ability to make business recommendation with regards to these tools
  • MBA
  • PMI and/or PMP – project/program management experience
