Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

The Collections Resolver associate demonstrates a sense of urgency and good judgement when resolving invoicing disputes on customer accounts while following established guidelines.  The Resolver will meet service level agreements for assigned workloads, and identify risks and red flags, while providing excellent cusotmer service and supporting the sales function.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 50%- Responsible for facilitating resolution of customer disputes. Function requires heavy use of computer systems & telephone. Must be a self starter with proven organizational ability, time management and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Comprehension of business practices across end markets/systems. 
  • 50%- Creates excel spreadsheets, initiates emails, calls and follow-ups with business contacts, updates disputes in Get Paid and partners with Sales Dept., Operations or Customer Service to resolve customer concerns.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to Credit & Collection Manager. Has no direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
ENVIRONMENT:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
TRAVEL:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
YEARS OF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 3 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency 
  • Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written 
  • Ability to compose written emails in a professional format 
  • Proficient with use of basic level of Excel 
  • Ability to handle complex issues with limited supervision 
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as keyboard, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel including vlookup and pivot table
  • Previous experience in dispute resolution, deductions, collections
  • Comprehension of accounting concepts such as: debits/credits, account reconciliation, collections efforts, credit line establishment, cash application etc
  • Proficiency with systems: Unisys (ISS), RS6000 (ERP), Get Paid or related collections software, Billtrust, FIS/Sungard products, SAP
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment 
  • Team Player 
  • Accounting Aptitude 
  • Ability to meet workload deadlines
