Prudential Capital Group’s EFG: Power invests in and manages a portfolio of transactions in companies that make or transport electricity on behalf of Prudential Capital Group including traditional and renewable power plants (wind, solar, geothermal, etc.), utilities and electric cooperatives. EFG: Power is located in Dallas, TX and annually invests approximately $1 billion. Description & Responsibilities:
Prudential Capital Group’s Energy Finance Group: Power seeks to hire an analyst to join the portfolio management team.  This team is responsible for EFG: Power’s growing portfolio of investments in transmission and power generation, including investments in renewable power generation such as wind, solar, and hydroelectric power plants.  The Analyst position offers candidates the opportunity to build their analytical skills and expand their knowledge of private placement investments in the three-year analyst program.  In this position, Analysts support the team in managing private placement senior debt.  Prudential Capital Group’s clients range from large multi-national public companies to smaller privately held companies.  Analysts perform operational and financial analyses; track projects’ ongoing performance; support the team in monitoring portfolio investments (including direct interaction with management at client companies); create portfolio presentations; compile portfolio performance metrics; and, assist in the analysis and execution of modifications to loan documents.  Prior experience working with structured, project-finance investments is preferred, but not required.

  • Transaction and due diligence support

  • A college degree with a BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or other quantitative subjects is preferred
  • Interest in the power industry and more broadly in energy
  • Project finance and/or power industry experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical and accounting skills
  • Familiarity with the capital markets (knowledge of debt and equity security terms and valuation methodologies)
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to meet multiple, often overlapping deadlines
  • Strong writing, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Participation in the Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) program is a plus
  • Experience using VBA in Excel, or proficiency in other programming languages, is a plus
