Description:
The Specialist will be part of a team of six associates within the Consolidated Investment Reporting unit of the Regulatory Investment Accounting and Derivative Reporting area. Investment Reporting is responsible for providing investment operational expertise to support the financial reporting of Prudential’s $150 billion domestic insurance portfolio. Financial reporting on a Statutory and GAAP basis for all General and Separate Account invested assets of Prudential Insurance Company of America, Pruco Life, Prudential Retirement Insurance & Annuity Co, Prudential Annuities Life Assurance Corp, Prudential Legacy Insurance Company of New Jersey,  Pruco Reinsurance, Universal Pru Arizona Reinsurance Co, Pru Arizona Reinsurance Captive Co and other domestic insurance and captive reinsurance subsidiaries on behalf of Corporate Controller’s and Global Portfolio Management (GPM).

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Calculation of the Interest Maintenance Reserve (IMR), Asset Valuation Reserve (AVR),
  • Preparing Risk Based Capital (RBC) Statement Values
  • Prepare RBC Supplemental Reports
  • Booking quarterly general ledger entries for IMR and AVR
  • Preparing Annual Statement pages for IMR and AVR.
  • Calculation of the Adjusted Operating Income (AOI)
  • Calculation of the quarterly reforecast and multi year plan for IMR, AVR, and RBC
  • Various ad-hoc requests received from internal business partners
  • Special projects


 


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or 4-6 years equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory Investment accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of the various investment instruments and associated accounting treatment/requirements preferred
  • Strong PC skills including knowledge of EXCEL and Access preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle General Ledger System and PAM
  • Strong Leadership skills preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Highly motivated, team player and detail oriented
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Overtime may be required during peak periods
