**ROLE SUMMARY**



The position will work at the global level supporting reporting managers and peers within the PGS and Finance BT Architecture & Solution Delivery (ASD) team. The position will directly support the portfolios within PGS and Finance for on premise, cloud and hybrid solutions.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



The position will be responsible for supporting the portfolio within Finance and PGS BT. The position will be accountable for infrastructure provisioning orchestration on premise, cloud and hybrid in partnership with BTI, support annual budget planning, contribution to requirements and design reviews. The position will be accountable for identifying continuous improvement opportunities, optimal infrastructure/platform solutions for delivering high value of software licensing, performance and functionality with in the PGS and Finance BT organization. Additional responsibilities include: Cross team collaboration; providing L3/L4 architecture support to the service owners within PGS and Finance BT; business case development; project costing. The position will be accountable for analyzing and developing short-and-long-term solutions to IT needs. Reviews system requirements and business processes: codes, tests, debugs and implements software applications.



Manage consultants and own responsibility for overall development and delivery of new solutions and services, accountable for solution delivery. Defines technical solutions and services which will be built to enable Business Unit strategies, goals and objectives. Client focused, closely aligned with and partnering with our clients, with responsibility for Service Delivery, Demand Management and Value Management.

Works with service providers and customers to deliver solutions/projects effectively and efficiently



Gathers and analyzes business requests to determine how best to create successful solutions



Shapes thinking on how technology solutions support the goals of the business



Collaborates with Client Partners and BT Leadership to develop and execute technology strategy



Facilitates technology initiatives which directly impact client portfolio;



In collaboration with client, prepares business case for BT investment and presents to governance body



Aligns BT services with current and future needs of the business and its customers while improving quality of services delivered







Project Management



Experience with the System Development Life Cycle Process(SDLC)



Leads and directs one or more project teams



Creates, reviews, evaluates project plans and objectives



Tracks and reports progress relative to time, budget, and demonstrated results



Negotiates with clients, colleagues and outside vendors



Communicates project status, milestones and issues to the project sponsors



Applies effective project management methodologies and control techniques



Works independently and with Project Team members to ensure task-level plans are completed and executed on track



Manages project critical path and scope.







Strategy / Thought Leadership



Define and articulate strategic roadmap for each client area



Connect interrelated groups, functions and processes in an effort to drive value and efficiency across all supported areas







**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**



B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.



10+ years' experience in a pharmaceutical IT environment with progressively increasing responsibility



Strong understanding of enterprise technology operations and service support processes



Strong project delivery skills; History of leading large, complex initiatives



Strong diplomacy skills; able to navigate a difficult political environment



MBA a plus



Must have strong knowledge of ITIL processes and experience managing to an SDLC







**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**







+ Amazon AWS Certifications a plus (i.e. AWS Solutions Architect - Associate)



+ Vendor Management: Effectively negotiate with partners in Procurement with multiple 3rd party providers to define support requirements, continually monitor service delivery, and be prepared to rapidly transition to alternate service providers to achieve improved performance and/or cost savings.



+ Stakeholder Management: Engage stakeholders across a global organization, anticipate concerns, and take appropriate actions to achieve service delivery and financial commitments.



+ Technical Aptitude: Rapidly grasp complex technical concepts and anticipate support challenges.



+ Technologies - Linux (or UNIX) / MS Windows Operating System (OS) Administration, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio. Computer hardware familiarity (CPU, RAM, Disk, network). SQL familiarity and experience with SQL Server / Oracle. JBoss/Apache/Tomcat familiarity and experience. Familiarity with Amazon services (i.e. EC2, S3, Redshift)



+ Infrastructure - Familiarity and good technical knowledge of key system building blocks: servers, storage and network. Familiarity with: Converged infrastructure such as Dell EMC VxRail/VxRack/vBlock.. Knowledge of network load balancers, firewalls and general IT security



+ Ability to analyze server, storage and network utilization and for system bottlenecks or future expansion



+ Ability to evaluate cloud service providers for PaaS or SaaS solutions







**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS**



Will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle and/or eye strain. They may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients. They may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.







**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**



Domestic and International travel of 20%.
