Primary Responsibilities 

  • Participate in JAD / Agile / Scrum meetings
  • Deploy and maintain Applications / Systems
  • Lead the technical team in gathering requirements, use cases and development activities
  • Responsible for the technical solution within the Pega including enterprise class structure, data model and application framework
  • Insure adherence to the Pegasystems development guardrails as well as the original design principles
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers
  • Insure compliance with coding standards, UI standards and Corporate standards
  • Collaborate with the business to understand / influence business requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies / products / trends related to architectural solutions
  • Communicate solution options to business owners / stakeholders (e.g. architecture reviews)
  • Incorporate software and system architecture into conceptual designs while ensuring alignment with enterprise technology standards (e.g. solution patterns, application frameworks, technology roadmaps, capital plans)
  • Perform all phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development and testing
  • Design and implement performance and operational enhancements
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as require
  • Work very closely with architecture groups and drive solutions
  • Participate in an Agile / Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software releases every 2 weeks through Sprints
  • Work with a team of software engineers for one or more Agile scrum teams assigned to work on the project
  • Contribute to the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, and maintainable software and should be able to clearly articulate the implications of design/architectural decisions, issues and plans to technology leadership
  • Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, mentoring, and software engineering best practices to junior software engineers
  • Collaborate on the design with other team members and product owners, both inside and outside the scrum team
  • Estimate engineering work effort for engineering team and effectively identify and prioritize the high impact tasks
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines
  • Participate in on-call Dev-Ops support rotation
  • Strong communication skills

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT Solution Delivery
  • 3+ years of PRPC (PegaRULES Process Commander) Experience
  • Expertise in Integration modules using PRPC
  • Sound knowledge on PRPC frameworks and Enterprise Class Structure principles
  • Strong knowledge of current technologies including Open Source, web application development, web services (REST / SOAP / XML), WebSphere, JBoss,  messaging infrastructures and databases (DB / 2, Oracle, SQL)
  • Experience working with matrixed teams
  • Agile development experience
  • Ability to be on call (24 X 7) to provide coverage

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA / BS  degree
  • CSSA Certification
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT  performance metrics (e.g. SLAs, availability etc)
  • Working knowledge / experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Git Hub and Chef preferred)
  • Java experience
  • Experience in a Technical Lead role leading PRPC Projects
  • Production support experience for external facing applications/solutions.
  • Experience with commercial software development and/or healthcare industry experience
  • Experience with integration between systems
  • Experience with production support
  • Experience with messaging based architectures
  • Health care industry experience
