Summary:  Support SAS production jobs, and  develop and enhance code which contribute towards department savings goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Schedule and maintain SAS Jobs
  • Triage SAS jobs that fail, and correct the issues
  • Work in conjunction with business analysts to develop, test and implement new algorithms for COB opportunities
  • Focus on driving productivity and quality to aide business partners in achieving and exceeding monthly goals
  • Analyze client's data files for quality, quantity, and accuracy
  • Use SQL/SAS skills to identify data anomalies which may impact our processes
  • Perform proof of concept analyses
  • Develop, collect and analyze metrics and data to formulate fact-based decisions and proactively implement process improvements
  • Use metrics, excellent time management skills and leadership skills to ensure business objectives and goals are met
  • Identify emerging industry trends
  • Contribute to large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
  • Motivate and inspire other team members
  • Collaborate on application architecture design, enhancements, and decision-making
  • Organize and execute multiple re-occurring and one-off tasks and projects at one time
  • Troubleshoot and problem solving with an analytical mindset

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical role using SAS EG programming and interpreting SAS log files
  • 1+ years of some type of RDBMS such as MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server
  • 1+ years of UNIX experience using basic UNIX commands, writing, and interpreting basic scripts
  • 1+ years of experience with TWS (Tivoli Work Scheduler) or similar automation scheduling tool
  • Experience assessing business requirements documents
  • Ability to maintain understanding of numerous client processes in a distributed environment
  • Proven experience being detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to meet multiple deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a high-paced/high production environment
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with R, VB.Net, Python, C#, or other object oriented programming
  • Bachelor’s degree/ Technical degree or equivalent work experience (3+ years)
  • Experience with healthcare member or claims data
  • Coordination of Benefits (COB) experience
  • Proven ability to handle large scale projects to successful outcomes
  • Naturally inquisitive about the causes behind data trends and patterns
  • Self-driven, ability to work independently and facilitate change
