Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

We build cutting-edge applications that facilitate 9-figure project sales at The Home Depot. What problem will you be solving in this role?

Optimizing the user experience for in-store associates and the support team for our flagship product, QuoteCenter 2.

What tools do we use?

CSS, Javascript, and HTML (to name only a few)

Description

An HDQC Software Engineer is an experienced software engineer.  Activities include: designing, developing, installing, and maintaining software solutions.  All software engineers are expected to write well designed, testable, and efficient code and to demonstrate work ethic that motivates and encourages others on their team. Software engineers are encouraged to bring fresh ideas, new perspectives, and an eagerness to learn new technologies.

Experience:

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile software development environment
  • Full-stack software engineering experience on a high-performance software application
  • Experience with frontend Javascript, CSS performance
  • Experience maintaining a design system/pattern library
  • Experience with Media quires and Responsive Design
  • Some transferrable skills to either JS/frontend or c#/java/object-oriented languages
  • Background in UI/UX design a plus

 NATURE AND SCOPE

Position reports to the Manager, Information Services
No direct responsibility for supervising others.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 
2 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
