Position Summary

Build and develop enduring peer-to-peer relationships with HCPs and institutions, creating constructive cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to meet Pfizer's medical needs across our medicines' lifecycle

Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed information to key customers and stakeholders in response to unsolicited requests for information

Ensure customer intelligence and customer findings are fed back into the organization to generate customer insights and leverage medical opportunities

Support disease area medical strategies by providing support for the implementation of local non-interventional studies, following up on IIR opportunities, supporting feasibilities for phase 1-4 studies, support in the management of local advisory boards, interaction with local clinical investigators and other key medical and scientific activities

Support on business critical tasks like Health and Value dossier and others if needed


Build and develop enduring relationships with HCPs and institutions, creating constructive cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

To interact with and develop enduring relationships with regional and national opinion leaders and advisors on clinical practice

Medical support aligned and integrated to the overall strategy within the Oncology operating and clinical plans

To work closely with the local and regional medical team to ensure that:

o Medical customer insights are transmitted on a regular basis into the local and regional medical teams

o To receive timely information on disease area strategy and objectives, clinical development plan, new/important clinical data, new regulatory and safety information and receive accurate, balanced and up to date materials to use in medical to medical communications.

Medical input into country cross functional team, bringing in customer insights from the medical perspective and contributing to the execution of the disease area and customer plans.

To communicate customer feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies

Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed information to key customers and stakeholders in response to unsolicited requests for information

In response to an unsolicited request for information, communication of scientific data on the Oncology portfolio, including off-label indications and on compounds in development where specifically requested.

To provide high quality scientific presentations at external meetings where requested

To respond to requests for information on safety and pharmacovigilance

Support disease area strategies and other key medical and scientific activities

Working with investigators to evaluate their IIR proposals, including an assessment of study methodology, scientific rigor and what the data will add to the scientific landscape

o Advice on development of IIR concept and full proposal (in line with disease area IIR strategy)

o Internal discussion of proposal with the local medical team

o Follow up with investigators and co-ordination of medication supply if requested. Support for ethics and needed applications if appropriate.

o Regular contact with investigators throughout the study, reporting on progress

Working with investigators on Pfizer sponsored studies, including in house and CRO managed trials. Key focus will be on:

o Support the program, protocol, and site feasibility process for phase 1-4, through collaboration with the Country Clinical operations, Development Operations and CROs as appropriate.

o Communication with investigators on key developments of the clinical trial program and relevant scientific data as it becomes available

o Support for investigator meetings and trial steering committees

o Requesting feedback on clinical trial program and protocol feasibilities from potential investigators

o Support real life data generation / NIS

Working with sites conducting Pfizer sponsored studies to provide medical input

Support the management of local/national Advisory Boards

Working with Advisory Board members in preparation for meetings and on an ongoing basis as appropriate to gain medical insights

Speaker briefings for symposia and congresses where appropriate

Support for local medical education implementation, as appropriate

Support for initiatives around enhancing trust and reputation, in conjunction with external affairs and stakeholder strategy

Support internal training of customer facing colleagues, enhancing their knowledge and understanding of clinical data and our medicines if needed


Knowledge of local pharmaceutical Code of Practice and FCPA/GPIHP, relevant SOPs


As Medical Advisor - Oncology, you have:

A MD or a higher level scientific degree (biomedical, pharmacist)

An in-depth knowledge of the therapeutic and market context

A good understanding of:

o Process of drug development

o Clinical research as well as the ability to critically evaluate clinical studies and publication

o the national and regional health environment including its structure, policy, key members and scientific societies

You are fluent in business English

Capable to interact with customers in local languages (French and Dutch)

You are an engaged and motivated personality willing to improve outcome of cancer patients
