Job Description:

Provides professional, competent, safe, appropriate patient care in patients age newborn and older; management of all documentation related to management of communication between the VHS Laboratories, ancillary and off campus sites, both verbal and hardcopy documents. Manages all aspects of the Laboratory Information System for all of the VHS Laboratory System, including but not limited to CAP/Joint Commission /CMS compliance, P&P development and implementation, and system maintenance.    Maintains a professional, cooperative interaction with all hospital system departments, medical staff, and the public in keeping with the mission and philosophy of the Valley Health System. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times.  Other duties as assigned.

BS Degree in Medical Technology preferred or B.S in Computer field with Medical Experience


Two to five years clinical experience in an acute care facility or other business with comparable computing environment

Technical Skills:
Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office and Cerner LIS. ulMinimum of 2 years hand-on experience with Cerner Millennium. Previous Cerner Millennium training preferred.


At least 1 year as a currently active Laboratory Supervisor/Medical Technologist is preferred.


Nevada State licensure as a Medical Technologist (Supervisor preferred). This Laboratory requires licensure in one or all of the specialties of Microbiology, Serology/Immunology, Immunohematology,  Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Cytology and/or Histology.  Or B.S. computer related field with Medical Experience. National certification by ASCP or equivalent.
