*Role Description*

The Clinical Biomarker Mass Spectrometry group works with clinical and translational teams across all the Pfizer research units to develop and implement high-value, fit-for-purpose mass spectrometry based biomarker assays and supportive studies for early phase clinical projects in a GCLP environment. We are currently seeking a self-motivated laboratory scientist to support clinical biomarker assay development, clinical sample analysis, data processing and implementing new innovative biomarker technologies. This scientist will function as a technical and scientific resource for assay development, sample analysis and support team efforts to advance the clinical biomarker portfolio. The candidate will interact with inter-departmental colleagues, clinical teams, research units and study sites in a matrix environment.*Please be sure to submit a cover letter with your application as this is required to be considered.*


* Participate in all phases of LC-MS laboratory operations including new technology evaluations, the development of sample preparation and quantitation methods, data analysis, data reporting and follow up discussions for data integration and appropriate decision making. * Works directly with team members, biomarker leads and clinical assay leads in a matrix environment.* Utilizes current scientific literature to influence assay development and biomarker selection strategies. * Proactively gathers input from colleagues, teams and management to avoid/address issues at the team/project level. * Understands fit-for-purpose assay development and support; effectively balances assay rigor against resource needs and study goals * Participates in evaluating/advancing new technologies or techniques and applies them to portfolio challenges. * Utilizes GLP/GCLP guidance for validation and execution of laboratory work to support Pfizer clinical biomarker portfolio.* Occasional work outside of normal business hours should be anticipated.


* B.S. (>7 years) or M.S. (>5 years), in a relevant scientific field with direct liquid chromatography mass spectrometry experience including UHPLC, capillary/nano, QQQ and HRMS.* Experience in the development, characterization and implementation of quantitative LC-MS assays on endogenous molecules. * LC-MS analysis of peptides and proteins is preferred but not required. * Independently operates LC and MS equipment.* Acts decisively, can work with limited information and uncertainty in a complex matrix environment.* Excellent oral/written communication skills.* Knowledge and understanding of GLP and/or GCLP regulations and guidelines and associated data/LIMS systems.* Excellent oral/written communication skills evident by contribution to peer reviewed manuscripts and participation at conferences.PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, ability to perform mathematical calculations.NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Occasional work outside of normal business hours should be anticipated.
