Manage transportation for inbound raw materials which support the Frito Lay North American plants. Responsible for managing over 30,000 shipments with spend in excess of $50 million per year. Responsible for delivering sizable productivity projects, accountable for negotiating freight rates, and managing an accessorial budget. Strong working knowledge of transportation industry particularly as it pertains to potatoes, and rail procurement. Responsible for on-time deliveries and ensuring no plant downtime for lack of inventory related to transportation. Act as the liaison between carriers, vendors, and plants. Operate in information systems for financial payment and operational reporting.

Procure and manage rail transportation for NAF( North America Foods) commodity supply along with railcar fleet procurement for our Corn facilities, Potato Flake fleet, and Potato railcar fleet. A Strong understanding of rail operations and railcar fleet are essential. Lastly, strong negotiation skills and a clear understanding of Frito-Lay operations is desired.

Conduct business meetings, conference calls and reviews with Frito Lay plants, senior management and vendors. Close working relationship with commodity buyers and procurement team members.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 4+ years of experience in logistics or equivalent experience
  • Background in Rail Transportation and Logistics Operations
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to analyze data and troubleshoot issues
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be willing and able to travel 20% of the time
