Position Summary:
  SummitRidge Hospital specializes in the provision of mental health and chemical dependency services. Our team of professionals provides caring and professional inpatient nursing support to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis.

   Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking a Lead Assessment Counselor.  Support daily operations, take the lead on training new hires and developing department specific competencies, report, track and monitor departmental performance improvement data.  Serve as a liaison coordinating service delivery with Nursing so that client needs are met.  Provides Crisis Intervention, Telephonic Triage, and Clinical Assessments. Provides callers and families with Community Resources and Information; Obtains Admission Precertification's.

 
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

-         Master’s Degree in Social Work/Psychology/Counseling

-          Current professional licensure strongly preferred.
-          Supervisory/progressive leadership experience preferred.
-          Strong clinical skills to address crisis situations, family, group, and individual therapy.
-          Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Position Tasks:         

1.      Assessment of adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients

2.      Documentation of assessments

3.      Insurance verification/precertification

4.      Crisis management/intervention

5.      Adhere to Referral source procedures/documentation

6.      Complete legal paperwork

7.      Actively assist Dept Director in the coordination and development of Assessment services

8.     Serves as a designated trainer and reviews departmental competencies

9.     Leads Departmental Performance Improvement data collection and reporting initiatives.

10.  Clear communication with patients and staff

11.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

12.  Strong clinical skills to ensure timely, accurate and consistent management of information.
