We currently have a position available for Full Time Lead Clinical Social Worker at the Outpatient Services facility in Carson, California. This position assists in the integration of social services functions in the patient care, discharge planning and aftercare planning process with other Del Amo Behavioral Health System departments, external service organizations, agencies and health care facilities.  The Lead Clinical Social Worker provides direct care to patients as appropriate and ensures compliance with quality patient care and regulatory standards; assists patients and their families through the use of psychotherapeutic skills to understand, identify and resolve complex problems resulting from psychiatric illnesses utilizing group and individual therapies.

 

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Provides psychosocial assessments, individual therapy and lead group therapy as appropriate
  2. Provide social work consultation to physicians, nurses, other facility staff members, patients, patient’s relatives
  3. Coordinates with community agencies with assigned social worker
  4. Assists Clinical Management staff with supervision and assignments of social work staff
  5. Coordinates social services treatment plan with patient treatment plan and participates in treatment rounds/case conferences
  6. Serves as a clinical resource to staff members, identifies and recommends educational needs
  7. Coordinates social services discharge and home care planning processes to facilitate continuity of care
  8. Assists in orientation and training for new clinical social workers

Requirements

Education:  Master’s Degree in Social Work or Doctorate of Psychology required

 

Credentials: Licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LCSW or licensure by the California Board of Psychology as a Ph.D. or Psy.D required

 

Experience: Two (2) years employed as a clinical social worker at Del Amo Behavioral Health Systems or other behavioral health facility; Three (3) years of experience in mental health inpatient treatment or related experience required.
