Cox Communications is looking for a skilled cloud engineer with advanced network experience to help integrate and implement network designs for our private and public offering by evaluating business strategies, technology requirements, researching network standards, and identifying integration issues. Responsibilities will also include identifying and resolving gaps in monitoring and automation, in relation to software defined networking stack, connected network equipment and inter-networking requirements with Cox network engineering. The individual will be able to analyze and define requirements to identify and mitigate risk with integration into production networks.  The individual will be required to lead networking automation requirements and communicate in written and verbal formats with multiple internal and external groups.  The individual will be required to be an initiator of large scale standard creation and enforcement to support large scale automation both private and public cloud destinations.

Candidate should have a strong background with networking and security technologies from major providers such as Juniper, Cisco, VMware NSX and Palo Alto Networks. Experience with one or more application delivery and load balancing platforms such as A10 ADC or F5 is a plus. The ideal candidate should also have a strong understanding of virtualization, virtual network and cloud computing environments and understanding of scripting. 
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Collaborate with Engineering groups to integrate new network designs into the production network
Independently analyze existing tools for missing efficiencies or gaps and develop new processes for addressing automation opportunities
Independently support internal and external teams in relation to upcoming platform initiatives and changes to platform
Provide network performance and capacity guidance by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
Accountable for ensuring that network infrastructure and applications are maintained and patched 
Provide advanced troubleshooting assistance using structured and repeatable methodology and willingness to train others
Accountable for creating robust, technically detailed “MOP” (Method of Procedure) for service integration and implementation
Accountable for analyzing network change requests to determine what type of service is requested, the degree of impact, and where and when implementation should occur
May serve as a secondary escalation point for primary on-call support
Recommend use cases that address specific organizational needs and/or regulatory requirements
Prepare and present dashboards for tiered support organization including but not limited to, incident trending, standards compliance and maintenance activity
May manage intermediate level projects with Operations and Engineering to confirm delivery intervals and validate critical dates and milestones to ensure delivery of services stay on target. 
Coordinates with other departments to ensure the network is available and configured to exceed market demands.
Accountable for working with Cox Security teams to help define, organize, implement and audit all security functions within private and public cloud within Cox Communications.
Lead for the implementation of security standards defined by security teams and organizational committees. 



5-8 years of experience in networking or related fields
4+ years of direct technical network administration experience
Understanding of networking technologies from major providers such as Palo Alto Networks, Juniper, VMware NSX and Cisco
Knowledge of scripting languages (Java Script, Bash, PowerShell)
Demonstrable skills in the following areas:
IPv4 and IPv6 deployment and support in large datacenter and wide-area networks; 
IP Packet-based protocols such as TCP, UDP, and Routing Protocols: BGP, static routing; 
Ethernet Technologies: gigE, 10gigE, VLANs, 802.1Q (VLAN tagging), 802.1P (layer 2 QoS), VRRP, HSRP; 
QoS Capabilities: classification, marking, queuing, policing
Traffic management validations 
IP Protocols used to deliver multicast traffic (IGMP, PIM); 
Demonstrable experience of analyzing and interpreting system and application logs to diagnose faults and spot abnormal behaviors
Practical experience using UNIX or Linux system administration command line
Experience in systems for monitoring large networks, e.g., HP NNMi
Experience working with managers and customers, receiving requirements and converting them into actions with little management direction

Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline (i.e. Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical degree)
Experience building automation tools using various platform APIs (vSphere API, Cisco APIC, OpenStack, A10)
Experience with deploying virtualized network functions using Contrail or VMware NSX
Experience with virtual infrastructures (VMWare, KVM)
Experience with Software-defined Networks (Contrails, NSX)
One or more security related certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH, CFI, CNSE, JNCIS, JNCIE)
One or more networking related certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIS, JNCIP)
