Position Description

As a Leader, Data Management and Analytics, you are responsible to lead a team that will manage and manipulate primarily structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality.  Depending on the specific role and business line, example responsibilities in this function could include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use across Operations. 
Roles in this function could partner with stakeholders across operations to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support high exposure dashboards creating insight and measurements for continued efficiencies and business improvements. Other roles involved could include producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients.  Team members will typically use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leads a global team of less then 8 FTE & Support a COE model of $20M
  • Act in a leadership capacity reporting to the V.P. of Operational & Client reporting
  • Creates, monitors, and enforces standards, policies and procedures in relationship to information technology and performance
  • Manages a staff of Analysts to deliver actionable insights to business partners to drive business results
  • Maximizes staff performance and technical expertise through clearly defined objectives, training, skill development and leadership to ensure high quality & NPS services to all customers
  • Manages the development, maintenance and support of customized databases and enterprise data warehouses. Activities include working with the organization to identify reporting needs and assign resources to design and implement solutions
  • Serves as a consultant to departments in the process of strategic planning, operational analysis, business design, solution implementation and project management as it relates to assigned projects
  • Manages effective communication across the company regarding the status and impact of information technology, and evaluates internal communication for effectiveness and consistency of shared information
  • Maintains up to date with new technology, which is appropriate and capable of supporting the strategic initiatives of the organization
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

***Please note, we are seeking a candidate that lives in CT -the position can be a telecommute role if you do not live near a local office***

Required Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+  years of experience in a leadership capacity leading an Analytics team (Healthcare experience a plus)
  • 3+ years or Expert in data visualization tools such as Tableau & SSRS
  • 2+ years in data preparation / advanced analytics tools such as Alteryx
  • 1+ year experience in Agile philosophy / SCRUM methods
  • Requires in depth knowledge and experience in the capability to tell a story through analytics and visuals
  • Exceptional communication and team work, ability to drive results through team of team’s leadership
  • Relationship management experience
  • Proven track record of developing an analytical capability across a team
  • Independently solves complex problems and challenges the status quoi
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Related experience in a healthcare operating environment
  • Technically savvy, Knowledge and use of a relational database management systems such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Informatica  & ETL tools like SQL SSIS
  • Knowledge and use of web-based application design strategies
  • Knowledge of multiple complex data stores and data warehouses integrations
  • Ability to articulate level of experience across; analytical thinking, effective communication, efficiency opportunities, driving results and leading change, delivering actionable value to our business partners
