Position Description:
The Learning Program Specialist (LPS) maintains process and product expertise on all aspects of Home Depot's learning systems. The LPS is responsible for implementing Learning and Development programs and maintaining learning plans in the Learning Management System, as well as executing instructions for events Learning and Development supports in the field. The LPS serves as second tier escalation for all Learning and Development needs in the field.


  • 75% - System and Program Administration - Provides support for managing learning plans in the Knowledge Depot Learning Management System (builds courses, offerings, curricula and deploys to target audiences). Monitoring and responding to emails in the escalation mailbox providing customer-focused direction, advising on how to resolve issues, performing tasks, and handling critical customer issues. Organizes and executes travel and on-site logistics for instructor led training (ILT) events. Manages team resources (e.g., inventory, room calendars). Schedules, plans, and prepares meetings and presentations. Communicates and coordinates with instructors and vendors
  • 20% - Project Management - Supports key L&D implementation and enhancement projects. Coordinates large-scale field events with all levels of the organization. Partners with other associates to consult and make recommendations on program execution. Manages event and learner logistics (e.g., transportation, scheduling/planning, customer issues).
  • 5% - Data Analysis & Reporting - Analyzes data (e.g., evaluations, expense trends, training execution/programs) to make key decisions and provide recommendations to improve program and system health.


Position reports to the Learning Execution Manager


Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
2 years

Physical Requirements:

Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Experience with the administration of Learning Management Systems and SharePoint
  • Experience with needs analysis, learning data analysis, and reporting
  • Proficiency with traditional desktop software, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Possesses working knowledge of HR
  • Experience working on projects
