Position Summary:
SummitRidge Hospital specializes in the provision of mental health and chemical dependency services. Licensed Practical Nurses provide caring and professional inpatient nursing support to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis.

   Our in-patient nursing department is led by the Director of Nursing, Nurse Weekend Supervisor and includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Mental Health Technicians, and Nurse Technicians. SummitRidge is committed to continuity of care and does not utilize agency staff, instead we maintain a fully trained PRN pool as needed.

  Join a fast-paced team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).  Provide direct patient care to patients and assist the Registered Nurse in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.  The LPN is responsible for meeting the established standards of nursing practice and collaborating with other members of the health care team.

 
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

-         Graduate of a state approved school for practical nurses. 

-         Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.

-         Experience in inpatient psychiatric or related acute care setting.

-         Demonstrates consistent alertness, sound judgment, assertive action and initiative.

 

Position Tasks:         

1.      Administers medications accurately according to the Georgia LPN Practice Act and hospital policy

2.      Assists physicians proficiently with examinations and special procedures

3.      Recognizes changes in the patient’s condition, takes initial action when warranted, reports these to the RN and receives direction from RN
