Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
Are you ready to join a team of "movers and shakers"?  The Logistics Analyst will support the logistics operations team with a mix of daily operational activity and high value analytics.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 50%- Operation activities 
  • 50%- High value analytics
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to Logistics Analysis Manager. Has no direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
ENVIRONMENT:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
TRAVEL:
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 10 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Most all of the time is spent sitting in the same position or standing/walking or there is some requirement to lift or handle material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Operation activities may include but not limited to: 
  • Utilizing TMS to route freight 
  • Managing supplier compliance and on-boarding 
  • Managing carrier compliance and service levels 
  • Supply chain finance activities such as claims management and cost allocation. 
  • High value analytics may include but not limited to: 
  • Evaluating mode decisions 
  • Distribution network design 
  • Carrier service analytics 
  • Rate forecasting 
  • Cost analytics 
  • Root cause analysis
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, preferably Transportation, Supply Chain, or Logistics. 
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Nearly all of the tasks required in this position require highly competent computer skills including but not limited to MS Excel and SQL. The applicant must have the ability to write complex queries and present data in a simple concise format. 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • The applicant must have the ability to develop advanced models using statistics and other mathematical forms 
REASONING ABILITY
  • Sound business reasoning and the ability to use facts to make profitable decisions and process improvements are required. CERTIFICATES,
