Job Details


The Logistics Director will provide leadership and have overall operational responsibility for the Logistics function at the McPherson site. The Logistics function includes receiving, warehousing, material movement, shipping, and trade compliance. The Logistics Director will own the creation and implementation of a strategic warehouse master plan, including the construction of a new cGMP warehouse. The director will have 4-6 direct reports and a total organization of approximately 40 colleagues.


+ Developing a strategic logistics master plan and executing capital projects against that plan

+ Developing and executing a rolling, three-year capital plan

+ Creating annual expense budgets and successfully executing against the budget

+ Driving safety performance and safety improvements

+ Ensuring regulatory compliance (GMP, DEA, Safety, Environmental, etc...) and leading a culture of compliance

+ Articulating, role modeling and providing leadership toward the desired culture

+ Representing the Logistics function during regulatory and customer audits

+ Creating a state of audit readiness and participating in and/or leading self-audits

+ Delivering logistics services and support to the site to ensure materials are received, moved and shipped on-time and in a compliant manner

+ Executing HR processes (staffing, development planning, talent assessment, performance management, succession planning, discipline, recognition)

+ Interacting with and providing guidance to third-party logistics providers

+ Driving continuous improvement in all facets of the operations (safety, quality, cost, service)


+ Bachelors degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical experience preferred) or Masters degree with 7 years of pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry experience

+ Minimum of 5 years warehousing/logistics experience

+ Minimum of 5 years at the managerial level successfully directing and developing staff level colleagues.

+ Experience participating in audits and interacting with regulatory agencies desired

+ APICS certification desired

+ SAP experience desired

+ Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills including presentation skills
