Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

Are you ready to manage a team of "mover and shakers"?

The Logistics Manager will manage transportation initiatives and work cross-functionally with Supply Chain leaders. Maintain a focus on customer service and creating an end-to-end, best-in-class Supply Chain for the Home Depot. The Manager is responsible for analysis of transportation data, developing and managing transportation reporting, and owning day to day project management activities for multiple initiatives. The manager will be responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving efficiencies throughout the transportation network.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 25%- Lead key transportation initiatives and identify cost-out opportunities and communicate recommendations to upper management in order to achieve efficient product distribution. 
  • 25%- Manage transportation reporting through the development of new reporting and maintaining distribution of existing reporting 
  • 25%- Manage freight payable and freight claim processes 
  • 25%- Ad hoc analysis and data requests
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to the Director of Transportation.
This position has 3 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
ENVIRONMENT:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
TRAVEL:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 5 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Excellent project management skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis. 
  • Ability to ascertain and solve problems. 
  • Strong computer skills. 
  • Strong communication skills.
