Job Description

River Park Hospital pays a bonus of $1,000 after 90 days of successful employment, another $1,000 after 9 months of successful employment and another $1,000 after 2 years of successful employment.

 

Essential Core Functions:

  1. Nurse/Patient Relationship: Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.

  2. Assuring/Improving Quality Care: Facilitates the patient and family’s right to receive safe, quality, and cost effective care. Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care and information.

  3. Patient/Staff Education: Demonstrates a commitment to meeting the learning needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate resources to meet those needs and achieve positive patient outcomes. Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers and colleagues.

  4. Nursing Process: Demonstrates the use of nursing process as a problem-solving model.

  5. Leadership/Collaboration/Professional Development: Demonstrates respect and understanding for peers and other clinical disciplines and participates as an effective member of the patient care team to implement an integrated approach to care. Demonstrates leadership behaviors and is committed to the development of self and others.

Job Requirements

Job Specifications:

  1. Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience

  2. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  3. Valid West Virginia LPN license with one year nursing experience and prefer six months in a mental health setting or as a charge nurse in a health care setting.

  4. Current certification in CPR

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed:

  1. Good communication skills (written and oral) and good computer skills.

  2. Ability to work with others as a team.

  3. Basic clerical skills. Basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax).

  4. Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.

  5. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  6. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  7. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism when circumstances warrant such action.

  8. Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning.

  9. Must possess the ability and willingness to work professionally with other personnel, patients, family members and guests.

  10. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, emotionally upset, varying age population, and, at times, hostile people within the Hospital.

  11. Must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, personnel, and support agencies.

  12. Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
