Job Description

$3K Sign on Bonus

The LPN Clinic Nurse cares and treats patients in the Outpatient Medical Clinic, and is responsible for ordering and organizing medical supplies and maintaining medical equipment and furnishings in the med clinic.  

Performs position specific job functions within professional nursing standards.  Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within appropriate time frames.  Cares for and treats patients in medical office, as directed by physician, maintains records of vital statistics and other pertinent data of patient, cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment, and maintains stock of supplies.  The nurse takes vital signs, records patient complaints and histories, and transcribes orders. Triage’s all calls, coordinating responses with the doctor, or mid-level, and refills all scripts within a 2 business day time frame, within the doctor’s protocols.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of calling in prescriptions and preparing prescriptions for physician review.

  • Triaging calls, per the physician’s protocols.

  • Prioritizing workload in a busy office setting.

  • Knowledge of nursing skills. Knowledge of national patient safety standards, age specific competencies, and standards established by Joint Commission and the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.

  • Accurately conveys patient behavior and status verbally and in writing. Professional verbal and written skills for communicating patient status, and treatment needs to clients, families, professionals, and employees of the facility. Able to verbally adapt spoken communication to meet needs of patient.

  • Proficiency in facilitating medication and treatment education to patients. Able to handle multiple projects under deadlines with short notice.

  • Demonstrates competency in clinical and professional practice.

  • Maintains professional therapeutic relationships with staff, patients, families and visitors. Able to maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA.

  • Able to provide coordinate and communicate care needs with other treatment providers.



  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.



  • Current Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.

  • Current Oklahoma Driver’s License (Required for staff on Driver’s List)



  • Prefer two years work experience in an outpatient treatment setting with children and/or adolescents.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Physical strength necessary to implement patient behavioral crisis intervention.

  • Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping as required to assist in patient care. Able to sustain physical activity eight hours a day and sit at a desk for six hours per day.

  • Hearing, vision, sensory, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions.

  • Able to deal with stressful situations and changing priorities.

  • Able to lift, carry, and lower up to 35 pounds using appropriate body mechanics.

  • Access to reliable transportation; maintains reliable attendance record and arrives in a timely manner.
