SUMMARY:



The Maintenance Department is made up of Production Equipment Specialists that support manufacturing with any equipment issues or projects that are mechanical in nature. Each Production Equipment Specialist is assigned manufacturing lines of responsibility where they oversee all maintenance efforts throughout the year and during Shut Downs. Production Equipment Specialists are technical experts that assist Senior Production Operators with troubleshooting and making improvements with the machines. Production Equipment Specialists report to Maintenance Supervisors.







RESPONSIBILITIES:







+ Clearly communicate the supervisor's instructions and schedules to the employees in accomplishing assignments to meet quality, security, productivity, safety and SOP compliance.



+ Prepare and update PM tasks relating to production equipment maintenance.



+ Assures smooth or improved operation of production equipment by means of any or all of the following: planning and coordinating maintenance functions with supervisors, Senior Production Operators, and engineering personnel; using historical data to establish and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance procedures; troubleshooting or repair.



+ Prepares purchase requisitions and traveling requisitions for spare parts used on production equipment. Endeavors to control costs of maintaining production equipment.



+ Provides troubleshooting expertise on mechanical, refrigeration and electrical malfunctions on production equipment.



+ Promotes teamwork, a positive work environment and an atmosphere that enhances continuous improvement. Actively participates in meetings and projects.



+ Assists in training Senior Production Operators and other production personnel for their assigned line responsibilities.







Requires ability to understand and carry out assigned duties effectively.







QUALIFICATIONS:







+ High school diploma or GED required



+ Knowledge needed of specialized business processes such as elementary accounting procedures, operation of equipment such as bookkeeping and billing machines, basic computer operations and normal office procedures.
