We are looking for an infrastructure architect who can partner with our acquired entity partners to understand their existing application suites, related infrastructure and strategic technology direction in order to successfully migrate them into Optum-managed infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop required instrumentation to manage/monitor system performance and availability
  • Develop/maintain processes to optimize system/resource performance and productivity
  • Contribute knowledge required for system/process documentation
  • Create comprehensive representation of applicable processes and systems (e.g., process mapping, system diagrams)
  • Ensure quality/accuracy of data used in system/process documentation
  • Design/develop/deliver training to educate applicable stakeholders (e.g., users, team members, leaders, other IT teams)
  • Utilize appropriate process framework to monitor/manage systems (e.g., ITIL, ITSM Service Lifecycle, service readiness)
  • appropriate tools to manage applicable processes (e.g., HPSM, incident management, problem management, change management, configuration management)

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of hands-on systems engineering experience
  • 5+ years in a large-scale environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supported operating systems/ environments/platforms (e.g., Windows, UNIX/Linux, Citrix, MVS)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supported system infrastructure (e.g., network, storage, middleware)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supported database platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL, DB2, Sybase)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of established information security policies and procedures (e.g., HIPAA, ARRA, PCI, PHI, PII, SOX)
  • Ability to travel as needed (anticipated at under 25%, with 14-day advance notice
