POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Worker participates in maintaining a safe and functional physicial environment for patients, employees and guests and in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Gulfport Behavioral Health System.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts routine heating and air conditioning maintenance and repair to include filter changes, clean coils, grease and oil motors, change belts in air conditioning and heating systems on the roof and in patient rooms, patient areas and general areas of the building.
  • Carry out routine building maintenance tasks including painting, running cables and patching wallpaper, tiles and sheet rock.
  • Perform routine tests of specialized equipment and documents results appropriately.
  • Carry out routine plumbing and electrical maintenance and repair.
  • Maintain organization grounds.
  • Move furniture, beds and other equipment.
Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Prefer general experience in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and air conditioning with experience in

repairs and maintenance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Prefer prior maintenance experience in a hospital, health care, or hospitality setting

Additional Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.

 

Physical Requirements:

Heavy physical workload. Push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Requires standing, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling and stooping throughout the shift.
