Description **ROLE SUMMARY**

The incumbent is responsible for managing the site maintenance engineering programs (Calibration, Predictive, Planned and Corrective) to support successful achievement of the production plan and to ensure the site in Albany is operating with the highest degree of reliability and cost efficiency.


+ Responsible to oversee the maintenance engineering activities for B and M lines at the Albany Site which manufactures and packages the ThermaCare.

+ **Leadership and Administrative:**

+ Manage maintenance engineering section to comply with Pfizer policies, guidelines and procedures.

+ Review and approve the implementation of equipment specific training programs for maintenance personnel both within the Engineering and Operations Departments.

+ Ensure proper utilization of all maintenance resources to support program objectives.

+ Administer the development and implementation of the maintenance program for B and M Lines inclusive of all ancillary manufacturing and packaging support equipment.

+ Develop and/or evaluate methods and procedures for improving maintenance operations.

+ Ensure that maintenance shop equipment and tools meet operational requirements.

+ Approve the selection of new maintenance personnel.

+ Promote colleague engagement and development consistent with the Pfizer GPM process.

+ Routinely interacts with site teams (Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Technical Services,

+ Engineering/EHS, OpEx/Training) to ensure alignment of objectives, priorities and projects that impact production and maintenance planning/execution.

+ **Operational Management** :

+ Establish the maintenance engineering goals and give direction to personnel to align with departmental goals and/or objectives.

+ Provide technical support to identify innovative engineering solutions to location machinery or equipment issues are implemented in a timely and professional manner.

+ Approve or suggest major equipment changes or improvements for ThermaCare Operations.

+ Approve or suggest preferred vendors for equipment, parts and instrumentation for all production and production support equipment.

+ Responsible for the review and approval of new equipment and systems installations.

+ Develops annual maintenance team and program budget; ensure maintenance work costs do not exceed approved budget.

+ Responsible for making contribution to the CIP Program.

+ Responsible for the approval of corrective maintenance work order estimates and scheduling with Operations.

+ Assist in setting priorities for all maintenance works.

+ Coordinate with other engineering sections or contractors for any support needed.

+ Monitor, review and approve spare parts listing and inventory.

+ Assist in the maintenance of an inventory program to insure an adequate quantity of spare parts and supplies.

+ Coordinate maintenance meetings and prepares location based maintenance engineering metrics and reports.

+ Review and/or approve the use of outside consultants/contractors to support maintenance engineering activities and new project/product introduction.

+ Assist in the review of all maintenance engineering documents to comply with codes and regulatory requirements of local and stateside authorities.

+ Assist in the development of maintenance procedures for individual work situations.


+ Bachelor Degree in Engineering

+ Master Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is desirable.

+ At least ten (10) years of experience in Maintenance Engineering and strong knowledge of Product quality, OSHA and EPA regulations.

+ Knowledge of medical device industry a plus.

+ Strong Managerial and Supervisory experience in Maintenance Engineering.


• Needs to be able to sit/stand/walk in both an office environment and production floor/lab/warehouse settings.


+ Needs to be able to support a 24/5, 24/6 or 24/7 operation.
