Job Description

::

The Facility Operations Technician performs a variety of facility tasks, including but not limited to painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, testing and inspections of physical plant equipment and fire alarm systems, preventive maintenance and other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

::

High school graduate or equivalent. 

Two (2) years of technical or trade school preferred. 

Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment, ensuring proper safety precautions.  Must have experience with building operation and maintenance.

 Hospital maintenance experiences a plus.

LICENSURE:  Must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record

  1. Knowledge ofbuilding maintenance, operation and repair.

  2. Knowledge of basic mechanical engineering.

  3. Knowledge of various hand/power tools and equipment.

  4. Knowledge of risk and safety precautions applicable to all codes and OSHA regulation standards.

  5. Knowledge of all code policies and procedures.

  6. Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.

  7. Skill in telephone etiquette and paging procedures.

  8. Effective oral and written communication skills.

  9. Ability to analyze problems and situations.

  10. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers.

  11. Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedure.

  12. Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.

  13. Ability to work as a team player.

  14. Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.

  15. Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures.

  16. Ability to recognize the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups (adolescent, adult and geriatric).

  17. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  18. Ability to meet management deadlines.

  19. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

  20. Able to read and interpret blue prints.
