The Actuarial Application Support team in Enterprise Services and Systems (ESS) leads in defining and implementing solutions to meet the needs of Prudential’s Actuarial functions. The ideal candidate brings significant experience in actuarial valuation and projection solutions, is keen to facilitate and lead strategic analysis, and is hands on in building deeper understanding with less experienced team members.

You will be a member of Prudential’s Actuarial Transformation project team. This enterprise-wide, multi-year initiative is redefining the organizational, process and IT support models and designs to create a high performing capability that features high levels of automation, transparency and analytic capability.

Key responsibilities:
You will collaborate with other ESS functional leads to provide deep business and functional expertise in support of the Actuarial processes and systems, and seek opportunities to leverage ESS common data warehousing, calculation and reporting solutions in support of the Actuarial process and information needs.

You will be responsible for aligning the objectives of Prudential Insurance and its member countries with those of the Application Support team. You will lead in a team that manages business/IT application partnerships for Prudential’s vendor and in-house actuarial systems. This team will coordinate the prioritization of changes with the actuarial, finance and IT stakeholders, and execute the analysis and testing as required for large implementations and smaller business-as-usual changes.

  • 5 years of experience in an Insurance actuarial function, either as a business or corporate actuary, part of an actuarial IT support function, or as a project team member/leader on actuarial systems implementations (consultant or employee)
  • Career progression that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility, achievement and expertise
  • Deep subject matter expertise in actuarial valuation and/or financial projection processes and systems
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • College degree is required---graduate degree in a relevant field is desired
  • Experience leading aspects of large, complex projects that cross organizational and functional boundaries
  • Experience with one or more of the leading Actuarial modeling software vendor packages
  • Experience with IFRS 17 Accounting Standards a plus
