This full-time position (based in Newark, New Jersey) will provide business support to the investment operations/reporting groups within Prudential’s international insurance subsidiaries located in Japan, Taiwan and Brazil.   The individual will provide business analysis, software validation and production support for the PAM for Securities system, as well as, the peripheral inbound/outbound interfaces, reporting and utilities that have been developed internally around this application.   The scope of this role may also include work on strategic projects that impact international.  This individual will be responsible for providing outstanding service to our international clients and will act as a liaison with other members of the team, the technology area and other areas within Prudential.  Specific responsibilities include:


  • Document software bugs for PAM, a vendor maintained system, and internally developed programs.  Coordinate resolution on behalf of our international clients.
  • Analyze and document business requirements for internal program (interfaces, reporting or utilities) and vendor software changes/enhancements based on business needs (e.g., new investments, changes in accounting policy, process re-engineering, etc.).  Follow-up on enhancements and coordinate through installation in production.
  • Software validation (development of test plans, test cases, execution of tests, review of actual vs. expected results and documenting bugs/issues).    This includes all types of testing (unit, integration, regression, dual/parallel, etc.).
  • Provide daily customer support for resolution of production issues.
  • Manage large scale projects (e.g., vendor software upgrades, conversion of new international clients, implementing new accounting requirements such as IFRS-9, etc.).
  • Work on strategic projects.


  • College graduates with a degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Management Information Systems required.
  • 3 year’s practical experience working with the PAM for Securities (PAM for Investments) or equivalent investment accounting/reporting system.
  • 3 Knowledge and experience working with debt/equity securities.  Experience with derivatives a plus.
  • 2 year’s practical experience with Cognos or similar reporting tool preferred.
  • 2 year’s practical experience with SQL and related tools (Microsoft Query, Rapid SQL, etc) preferred.
  • 2 year’s practical experience with the Software Development Life-Cycle preferred.
  • 2 year’s practical experience with writing business requirements preferred.
  • 2 year’s practical experience with software testing preferred. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Ability to travel 1-2 times per year to Asia to support clients (as required).
  • Ability to participate in conference calls with Asia weekly during the evening (3 times per month).
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and good organization skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as, in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage/guide/train junior staff on assignments (as required).
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • International business experience preferred.
