What You'll Do

Technical sales professional with broad knowledge of Cisco Services, Products, Solutions, and technologies. Drives services penetration through account planning, portfolio push and resource planning / allocation. Proactively develops and maintains a team of high-performing BDMs and continually seeks innovative methods for improving team performance. Collaborates with key customers/partners as a trusted advisor to enable services adoption and drive customer/partner satisfaction.


Build and maintain consultative relationships with customer/partner executives

Promote Cisco services and solutions to customers and partners, impacting positively towards pipeline and mindshare creation

Recognize transformational opportunities within key accounts, define a business case articulating how Cisco’s solutions align with the customer’s strategy while articulating the value of Cisco Services.

Qualify Opportunities

Qualify opportunities by understanding customer’s requirements and strategy and mapping the same to Cisco services strategy , solutions and capabilities  

Monitor and approve requests for pre-sales resources


Drive/support the team in the creation of the solutions proposals, leveraging COE, practice and other resources (tools, specialists, etc.) as needed

Drive smart scoping principles with strategic compliance in the bid responses

Bring innovation to the solutions creation so that it’s compelling, competitive and profitable at the same time.


Ensure proper handoff’s/transitions to Delivery

Personal and Organizational Development:

•           Monitor and measure team progress against business plan and recommend changes as needed

•           Interact with COE’s, Delivery theater leads in providing right visibility of opportunities in order to have right resource planning.

•           Lead cross-functional projects within area of responsibility

•           Facilitate expert communications and expert understanding of customer requirements among customers, partners, corporate, and the field

•           Proactively seek feedback on self; recognize own capabilities and take initiative to continually improve

•           Act as advocate for continual improvement in customer/partner experience to increase brand loyalty for Cisco

•           Understand mechanisms for building team capacity and improving team performance

•           Measures (using appropriate metrics), reviews and manages the performance, development and satisfaction of ones team

•           Creates and manages a development plan for the team

•           Lead by example – actively drive and own strategic opportunities, identify and resolve gaps through collaboration across functions and regions.

•           Discover key productivity improvement opportunities and execute a plan accordingly

•           Ensure adequate coverage and capabilities for market opportunities in line with services sales strategy

Sales Strategy and Planning:

•           Collaborates to create services business plans (territory, account, etc.) by compiling customer, partner and Account Team feedback and adding own knowledge of local market demand

•           Understand technology shifts within the market as well as requirements for new business models and translate these into a services sales strategy for the theatre

•           Collaborate with product sales and SE organizations to formulate, agree and own execution of a joint solution go-to-market strategy.

•           Aggregate customer requirements within the theatre and provide inputs to services product management for future service offer development.

•           Create a resource plan for territory or operation and integrate into the sales plan

•           Collaborate with Management Team to prioritize and target team opportunities; review quantitative information to identify and explain trends

•           Align resources to deliver on commitments and drive results

•           Lead team to services strategies that align to customer/partner business requirements and goals and assign resources appropriately

•           Develop services pipeline and provide regular cadence of this pipeline against sales goals and agreed services strategy. Identify solutions for gaps against key pipeline metrics.

•           Provide accurate reporting on services pipeline

•           Ensure architecture alignment with Architecture Sales teams and Deliver COEs.

Typically requires MBA, BE or equivalent with 10 -15 years related technical & services sales industry experience and 1-3 years management experience (or demonstrated leadership of technical/Services teams )
