Position Title: Manager, Business Group Risk Management

Job Location: New Jersey-Newark
The Manager, Business Risk for the Investment & Pension Solutions group within Prudential Retirement's Investment & Pension Solutions (IPS) group will be responsible for managing risk in support of the objectives of IPS to ensure that an effective and efficient risk management program is maintained and that compliance issues are appropriately addressed.  
He/she will be responsible for the evaluation and analysis of processes, management reporting, implementation of compliance oversight procedures, risk management and control awareness training and proactive risk management to ensure that operational risks are well managed. Specific responsibilities are as follows: 
  • Works to proactively identify areas of compliance and operational risk across processes and initiate evaluation and analysis 
  • Coordinates or assists with risk identification, measurement and monitoring activities, including risk control self assessments (RCSA) 
  • Implements compliance oversight procedures 
  • Maps workflow and analyzes risks and controls across processes 
  • Assists with the development of meaningful management information reporting and key risk indicators (KRI development) 
  • Participates in the implementation of large scale control initiatives, including workflow mapping, procedural development and documentation 
  • Monitors progress and reports status to senior management on business risk management and control initiatives 
  • Participates in Internal Audit reviews and action planning 

    • Experience in a control-related function including risk management, compliance, or audit is a plus
    • Financial services experience strongly preferred; Retirement industry experience a strong plus
    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with an ability to influence and drive resolution of issues across all levels in the organization
    • Strong leadership skills with ability to work independently or with a team, across disciplines and in a collaborative manner
    • Strong project management skills a plus
    • Risk related certifications considered a plus
    • Bachelors degree required
