Description The Global Information Security Business Technology (GIS-BT) team delivers three core capabilities for Pfizer. The Cybersecurity Analytics Engineer is accountable for the development and ongoing refinement of advance analytic models to detect cybersecurity threats ranging from sophisticated malware to employee misuse. The primary responsibilities include defining data collection requirements, developing and testing analytic models, measuring the detection success rate, and refining the model to improve accuracy. The development of analytic models will require the application of Boolean logic, statistical methods, data mining concepts, and behavior-based machine learning techniques. This position will work closely with the threat intelligence team to understand emerging threats and the cybersecurity analytics data management team to identify log collection requirements. This position will also work closely with organizations external to GIS-BT to apply cybersecurity analytic capabilities to support unique business challenges such as, identifying and preventing the loss of Pfizer confidential information, supporting legal discovery requirements, and identifying servers and applications for migration to cloud-hosted infrastructure. To the greatest extent possible, this position will ensure cybersecurity analytic notification and reporting is provided through self-service or automated methods to facilitate access by various user communities.



- Establish and enhance cybersecurity analytics reporting capabilities for use by GIS-BT to detect and respond to security-related events

- Act as a cybersecurity analytics subject matter expert to teams across Business Technology and Pfizer and leverage analytic capabilities to help solve specific business problems

- Participate in recurring meetings that review emerging threats and identify opportunities to leverage analytic capabilities to improve detection across the organization

- Proactively identify emerging data sources that improve detection capabilities and work with the cybersecurity analytics data management team to enable data collection

- Prioritize future data collection requirements based on the value of detecting a particular situation, availability of required data source(s) and related data retention costs, and the ability eliminate false positive detections

- Develop and refine analytic models to improve detection capabilities using various statistical, data mining, and machine learning approaches

- Develop automated and self-service reporting capabilities to ensure information is readily available to the intended audience

- Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies, such as user behavior analytics, and research opportunities to improve cybersecurity analytic capabilities

- Participate in Incident and Problem Management activities based on Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practices and contribute to related internal and customer status communications



- BS in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field preferred. MS in statistics or data science preferred.

- 10+ years IT experience

- 5+ years experience in cybersecurity

- 5+ years experience supporting multiple analytic capabilities in an enterprise organization

- 3+ years experience managing software development through 3rd party providers

- 5+ years experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated industry

- Experience managing medium to large scale, global IT projects

- Excellent oral and written communications

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with external customers to apply cybersecurity analytic capabilities

- Demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with individuals and groups at multiple levels across a global organization

- Previous experience working with a cloud-based analytics service provider is preferred

- Strong understanding of operating systems, network protocols, and applications development

- Ability to perform detailed analysis to identify the root cause of complex service performance issues



NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

- Standard work schedule, 20% domestic travel, and occasional international travel
