Prudential Advertising is a unique award-winning full-service branding & advertising agency within Prudential, established in 1996 and consisting of over 80 employees. The agency handles all advertising, including creative development, strategy, production, trafficking, and buying/planning of all media formats (broadcast, print, OOH, digital, and social) for Prudential's brand and individual business units.

Reporting directly to the VP of Strategy & Planning, The Senior Digital Strategic Planner will be part of the Strategy, Planning and Analytics team focused on digital customer journeys, closed loop marketing, and identifying and shaping content marketing opportunities.  This position will rely heavily on powerful insights into the category, business, target market(s) and strong cultural understanding. 

You will need to be an inspirational team member who can influence, persuade, guide and enlighten both internal teams (Creative, Media & Account Management) as well our Prudential business unit clients (Retail and Institutional Investments, Retirement and Group Benefits) in the areas of strategic recommendations, creative strategy and digital marketing  across all digital channels including; websites, video (long and short-form), digital advertising, social, mobile, licensed content curation, custom content creation, content partnerships, gaming, apps and tools, paid search, print, place-based and events/conferences.

Core responsibilities

  • Develop deep knowledge of key retail and B2B audiences. Capture and share insights with team about what drives audiences and how they feel about the Prudential brand and key competitors.
  • Develop the digital customer journey for prospects; advise on the ideal prospect experience and the KPIs and reporting that will be most critical to a learning agenda with this target.
  • Partner closely with the creative teams to raise the bar in creative strategy & development. 
  • Take ownership in the development of creative briefs, while working closely with key partners on the account. Help ensure efforts are collaborative and according to strategy.
  • Work with teams to build holistic communications plans and content ecosystems, working closely with partners in media, search, social and site teams.
  • Work with Analytics and Media teams to build test and learn plans and identify appropriate KPIs. Become the go-to expert on best practices and help codify best practices for testing and optimization.
  • Work with internal global market research group for any recommended custom research initiatives.
  • Partner with Planning Director on strategy recommendations.
  • Tap into industry trends, cultural trends and bring the most salient opportunities and insights forward.

 


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum of 5 years experience developing integrated or digital marketing strategies including closed loop marketing, content marketing, targeting for brands and businesses
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing digital channels including search, video, social and mobile to drive action
  • Proven expertise using multi-channel consumer data and research to develop strategies, communications plans and test approaches
  • Financial services industry experience a plus
