Description

Cox Automotive Canadais seeking a Manager of Financial Planning who directs and performs financial analysis and reporting activities to support short-term and long-range strategic plans and operating budgets for Cox Automotive Canada and manages company's financial planning process & procedures.  The incumbent will be evaluating data, prepare forecasts, and analyze trends in sales, operations, general business conditions, and other related areas.  This position will also require the incumbent to identify performance issues and makes recommendations to management for remedial actions.  The Manager of Financial Planning will also prepare and distribute periodic financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders; determine impact of programs and initiatives on Cox Automotive’s financial plans, including forecasts, budgets and long-range plan.  This position reports directly to the Director of Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES : 

  • Assist with the financial planning and coordination of monthly P&L forecasts and annual budget process, including capital expenditures;
  • Develop a roadmap for improving the budgeting and forecasting tools and processes; 
  • Streamline and automate certain financial operations; 
  • Manage financial responsibilities for multiple departments; 
  • Perform financial modeling with a perspective on benchmarking across comparable industries; 
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support business decisions;
  • Interpret financial data, variance analysis, and key business drivers to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement; 
  • Assist with presentation of financial analysis and interpretations to executive-level audience; 
  • Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities or projects.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent work experience in a financial environment required
  • Completed accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of business experience with strong focus in Financial Planning and Analysis, and/or Strategic Business Analysis 
  • Demonstrated analytical (industry, market, and business) and quantitative skills with track record of delivering insights which improve business results 
  • Solid knowledge of financial modeling and benchmarking techniques with the ability to synthesize complex information in executive level formats 
  • Proven ability to develop structured and fact-based analytics that include actionable conclusions and recommendations 
  • Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance multiple, changing priorities and work under tight deadlines 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers 
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate and present to executive level management 
  • Experience with Oracle Hyperion considered preferred but not required
